Diagnostic Tool for Smart City Engineers and Technicians
We’ve achieved our next millstone of SMACITE project by designing a kind of Diagnostic Tool. This powerful tool helps SMACITE learners pinpoint their training course requirements and informs a tailored learning path based on their prior knowledge, skills, and competencies.
The Diagnostic Tool aims to achieve two primary objectives. Firstly, it increases awareness of the Smart Cities Technicians and Engineers profiles by providing detailed descriptions of training program contents and granting access to the MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) platform. Secondly, it suggests personalized learning paths within the SMACITE (Smart Cities Technicians and Engineers) courses based on the learner self-evaluation of knowledge and skills.
By addressing the skills gap in the Smart Cities field through personalized education and training, our tool supports learners in understanding the competencies covered in the respective course. It provides guidelines in acquiring the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the SMACITE courses.
Our learner-centric approach guarantees that the Diagnostic Tool addresses the learner specific needs. Extensive research on Smart Cities technicians and engineers' learning requirements has shaped the tool's development. The Smart Cities Competencies Map, Emerging Job Profiles, and the SMACITE Curriculum form the foundation, ensuring the content is relevant and up-to-date.
To increase awareness, the tool provides comprehensive information about Smart Cities Technician and Engineer profiles, along with course-specific knowledge and skills descriptions. One can explore sample questions and domain knowledge-related quizzes to gauge their understanding.
The tool generates personalized reports based on self-assessment quizzes, aligning with course modules and domain knowledge. These reports empower learners to make informed decisions about customizing their learning experience within each course.
