The SMACITE project has developed a MOOC platform that hosts the online courses for Smart Cities enabling technologies as well as for building soft, enterpreneurial and green skills. Based on a thorough desktop review, online references, evaluations, and consortium members' experiences with the platforms, Moodle emerged as the most suitable platform for MOOC platform deployment. 

The MOOC platfomr has been piloted in 2024.
